Philip Glass reageerde verheugd op het nieuws: "The person who really would have enjoyed me getting a literary prize would have been my mother, who was a librarian and a big-time intellectual, but it would also have seemed unlikely to her."
"Writers often complain about writing, and now I know why," voegde hij hier lachend aan toe. "Writing books is really hard, and I do not intend to do another one."
